Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound sausage meat
  • 6 ounces sliced bread (6 slices)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the sausage, then drain well.

  • Step 2: Place the melted butter into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Cut the bread into small squares (you can cut the crust off or leave them on, your preference). Spread the bread squares over the butter in the pan.

  • Step 3: Spread the sausage over the bread. Cover the bread and sausage with the shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Step 4: Beat together the eggs, mustard, salt, and half and half. Pour over the ingredients in the baking pan. Chill for 8 hours, then bake for 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
