Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 ounces white chocolate
  • 1 pre-baked (7 1/2 ounce) pie shell (9 inch tart shell)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 lemon, whole (juice and zest)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: In a double boiler melt white chocolate over simmering water. Remove from heat; let cool and paint the tart shell with chocolate.

  • Step 3: Whist together the next 6 ingredients (-vanilla). Mix the sugar and flour together and then add to the wet mixture. Pour into saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.

  • Step 4: Pour into tart shell and bake for 30 minutes or until the custard is softly set. The custard will firm up as it cools. Garnish with sweetened berries if desired.
