Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups icing sugar (pure)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 125 grams dark chocolate (cooking chocolate, chopped)
  • 1/2 cup almond meal
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped dates (pitted)
  • 3 egg whites (room temperature, lightly beaten)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Line three large oven trays with baking paper.

  • Step 2: Sift sugar and cocoa into a large bowl and then stir in chocolate, almond meal, chopped almonds and dates and then add egg whites and using a wooden spoon, stir until combined.

  • Step 3: Spoon tablespoon of the mixture, about 4cm apart, on prepared trays.

  • Step 4: Cook two trays at a time, in a moderately slow oven (160C) for about 25 minutes, or until biscuits/cookies are firm.

  • Step 5: Stand trays for 10 minutes and then transfer to wire racks to cool.

  • Step 6: Repeat with remaining tray.
