Step 1: Line two large oven trays with baking paper.
Step 2: Combine chocolate, butter, sugar and cocoa in a large heatproof bowl and then sit bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until melted and then remove and cool.
Step 3: Whisk together eggs and vanilla in a small bowl and stir into chocolate mixture and then fold in combined sifted flour and baking power and the cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes, or until firm
Step 4: Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls and place 5cm apart on prepared trays and then press with palm of hand to flatten slightly.
Step 5: Cut each Mars Bar into 12 slices and gently press a slice on to each cookie.
Step 6: Cook in a moderately slow oven (160C) swapping trays halfway through, for about 18 minutes, or until just firm to the touch.
Step 7: Cool completely on trays before serving.
