Step 1: Butter a baking dish and place tomato halves in prepared dish, cut side up. Season tomatoes with salt and pepper.
Step 2: In a skillet over medium low heat melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add garlic and saute for one minute. Add breadcrumbs and rosemary; toss. Spoon breadcrumb mixture over tomatoes.
Step 3: Preheat broiler. Set tomatoes 4-6 inches from heat source and broil until crumbs are brown and crisp and tomatoes are just warmed through. Transfer to a platter and serve.
