Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 ounces dry spaghetti pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs (beaten well)
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground pork sausage)
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 can (8 ounce) tomatoes (cut up)
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Cook spaghetti via package directions and drain (makes 3 cups).

  • Step 3: While spaghetti is cooking, cook ground beef or pork with onion and green pepper in a skill until veggies are tender and meat is brown. Drain excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat through.

  • Step 4: Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Then stir in Parmesan cheese and beaten eggs.

  • Step 5: Form spaghetti into a crust for a 10 inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese on top of spaghetti crust.

  • Step 6: Pour meat mixture over spaghetti topped with cottage cheese. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Sprinkle mozzarella on top and bake 5 minutes more or until cheese melts. Remove from oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
