Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup water, warm
  • 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • Sugar, 1 pinch
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (by weight)
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 2/3 cup yogurt (cherry yogurt)
  • 1/3 cup applesauce
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add yeast and pinch of sugar to warm water, set aside.

  • Step 2: Mix together flour, salt and dried cranberries.

  • Step 3: Add remaining ingredients and yeast mixture, mixing well.

  • Step 4: Knead until dough is not terribly sticky, adding flour as needed.

  • Step 5: Place in greased bowl and cover, let rise until doubled, about an hour.

  • Step 6: Punch down and shape into loaf. Place in 8" or 9" loaf pan. Let rise until doubled, about an hour.

  • Step 7: Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375. Once risen, bake for 33 minutes or until done.
