Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup grits
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese, grated (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • 4 ounces sliced bacon (4 slices, chopped)
  • Chopped fresh chives, to serve
  • Fresh or powdered garlic to taste (Optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook grits according to package directions.

  • Step 2: Add the Cheddar, butter & 1/4 teaspoon each of salt & pepper. Stir to combine.

  • Step 3: Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a lrg skillet over med-high heat (tossing often), until crisp (approx 6-8 min).

  • Step 4: Top the grits w/the bacon & chives. Serve immediately.
