Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 325 grams dry macaroni pasta
  • 150 grams low-fat cream cheese (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 cup low-fat grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup low-fat grated cheddar cheese (extra)
  • 200 grams ham (shaved leg ham, thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives, extra (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs (packaged)
  • 20 grams margarine (reduced-fat, melted)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat an oven grill on high.

  • Step 2: Grease a 2 litre (8 cup) ovenproof dish.

  • Step 3: Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water for 8 minutes or until tender and drain.

  • Step 4: Combine cream cheese, milk and mustard in a large saucepan over moderat heat, cook and stir for 3 minutes or until mixture comes to the boil and then add pasta, cheese, ham and chives and mix well and then spoon into prepared dish and level surface.

  • Step 5: Place breadcrumbs, extra cheese and margarine in a bowl, mix well and sprinkle mixture evenly over the pasta.

  • Step 6: Place under the grill/broiler and cook for 5 minutes.

  • Step 7: Serve sprinkled with extra chives (if using)
