Step 1: Place the popcorn (and peanuts, if using) in a large bowl. Set aside. Have a wooden spoon handy.
Step 2: Place the condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in a large, heavy saucepan. Add a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat to soft ball stage, 235 degrees F.
Step 3: Pour over the popcorn and mix with a wooden spoon until everything is evenly coated.
Step 4: Eat as is or form into balls. Store any leftovers (really???) in a covered container.
