Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 365 grams dry navy beans (dry, 2 cups)
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups water (from liquid reserved from precooking beans, save extra if needed to prevent beans becoming too dry)
  • 1 package (2 ounce) dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (more if you like sweeter baked beans)
  • 1/4 cup light molasses (or to taste, I use about 3 tablespoons, do not use dark molasses)
  • 35 grams cooked pork (diced, 1/4 cup pork diced (I use thick cut bacon)
  • 2 tablespoons mustard (prepared)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 cup catsup (I like to use a little more, do a taste test)
