Step 1: Sift the sugar.
Step 2: Beat the butter until soft and add the sugar to it gradually.
Step 3: Blend these ingredients until light and creamy.
Step 4: Beat in the egg and the marmalade.
Step 5: Resift the flour with the baking powder.
Step 6: Stir the sifted ingredients into the butter mixture.
Step 7: Drop the batter from a teaspoon on two greased sheets, keeping the cookies well separated from one another.
Step 8: Bake about 8 minutes in a preheated 375' oven.
