Step 1: Cream butter and sugar.
Step 2: Add beaten egg and molasses and other dry ingredients, sifted.
Step 3: Roll in small balls, and then dip them in sugar.
Step 4: Bake in moderate oven (375') till done, on well-greased sheet, about 9-10 minutes. This recipe takes 2 or 3 cookie sheets. They need watching to avoid overcooking.
Step 5: Cool on wire rack.
