Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 large egg (divided, half will be used for brushing top crust)
  • 1/4 cup water (ice cold)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (cold)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a mixing bowl whisk together the flour, sugar and salt. Using a pastry cutter or two knives, cut in the butter. The butter chunks need to be the size of your thumbnail remain intact.

  • Step 2: In a separate bowl whisk together half the egg, water and vinegar and pour into the flour/butter mixture. Mix until the dough just begins to come together. Divide the dough and form into two disks about 1 inch thick. Wrap tightly and chill for at least an hour before rolling out.

  • Step 3: Pie dough can be frozen.
