  • 1 teaspoon water (orange blossom water)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 48 grams almonds (blanched, 40 almonds)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  • Step 2: Cream butter, 1 1/2 cup sugar, egg yolk, and orange blossom water.

  • Step 3: Gradually add flour, mixing with fingers until a smooth dough is formed.

  • Step 4: Form dough into balls slightly smaller than a walnut.

  • Step 5: Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and flatten slightly.

  • Step 6: Press an almond into top of each cookie.

  • Step 7: Bake for 20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.

  • Step 8: Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
