Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 quart blueberries
  • 2 pounds cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 ounces pectin (liquid)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Crush blueberries in bottom of large saucepan.

  • Step 2: Pit cherries, mash, and add to blueberries.

  • Step 3: Add water and bring to a boil.

  • Step 4: Allow to simmer for 10 minutes keeping pan covered.

  • Step 5: Remove from heat and place in jelly bag and allow juices to drip.

  • Step 6: Combine recovered juices with sugar in a deep saucepan and mix well till sugar is dissolved.

  • Step 7: Bring to a boil and add pectin.

  • Step 8: Hold at the boil for 1 full minute while stirring constantly.

  • Step 9: Skim off foam and pour into hot, sterile jelly jars and seal.

  • Step 10: Process in water bath 5 minutes.
