Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 dried chiles (stemmed, or 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds (raw and unsalted and shelled)
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grind chiles in a small spice mill or use a mortar with pestle.

  • Step 2: In a skillet over medium heat heat the oil and add the pumpkin seeds, stirring until toasted (seeds will pop) - 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar, salt and 1/2 teaspoon of the ground up dried chiles. Toss.

  • Step 3: Transfer to a bowl to cool.
