Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR BARS
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • FOR TOPPING
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Whipped cream cheese frosting (1 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 350.

  • Step 2: Combine butter, and sugar.

  • Step 3: Add in egg and mix wel.l

  • Step 4: Beat in molasses.

  • Step 5: Add in remaining ingredients until soft dough forms.

  • Step 6: Press dough into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9 inch pan.

  • Step 7: Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until center springs back when touched gently.

  • Step 8: Cool completely, approximately 1 hour.

  • Step 9: In small bowl mix 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon.

  • Step 10: Spread frosting over bars and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

  • Step 11: Cut into 6 by 4 rows.
