  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon soda
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • FOR ICING
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons light cream (or milk)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and vinegar.

  • Step 2: Blend in remaining ingredients. (If dough is too stiff work in milk 1 tsp. at a time.)

  • Step 3: Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface.

  • Step 4: Cut into desired shapes.

  • Step 5: Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

  • Step 6: Bake 6-8 minutes.

  • Step 7: Cool slightly and remove from baking sheets.

  • Step 8: Mix all icing ingredients until smooth.

  • Step 9: Decorate with icing if desired
