Step 1: Place ground beef, shallot and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5: Season with salt and pepper.
Step 6: Heat to a simmer over low heat, and cook until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently to prevent it from burning on the bottom.
Step 7: Spoon the mixture into the pita shells.
Step 8: Top with lettuce if you like.
