Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 500 grams ground lamb (lamb mince)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (day-old)
  • 1 yellow onion, grated (small onion)
  • 1 carrot, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup peppermint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 330 grams frozen puff pastry (3 sheets, thawed)
  • Tomato sauce of relish, to serve

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 210C.

  • Step 2: Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

  • Step 3: Combine mince, breadcrumbs, onion, carrot, mint, sauce and half of the egg in a bowl and season with salt flakes and pepper and mix well.

  • Step 4: Divide mince into 6 equal portions and roll into a sausage shape the same length as the pastry sheet.

  • Step 5: Place pastry sheets on a a clean work surface and cut in half.

  • Step 6: Place one portion of mince along one edge and brush other edge with remaining egg and then roll pastry and mince over and press to seal and then cut each roll in half or into smaller rolls, as desired.

  • Step 7: Brush tops with egg and place on trays.

  • Step 8: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until puffed and golden.

  • Step 9: Serve with tomato sauce or relish.
