The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds semisweet chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  • Step 2: Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and then line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper.

  • Step 3: Melt the chocolate and butter in a stainless steel bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile, in a large bowl whisk together the eggs and sugar.

  • Step 5: Fold in the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract.

  • Step 6: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt and then fold into the chocolate and sugar mixture until well combined.

  • Step 7: Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 45 - 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Step 8: Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
