  • 1/4 cup water, warm
  • 1/4 cup milk, warm
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (sharp)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Dissolve yeast in Warm water.

  • Step 2: Add milk, 1/3 cup butter, egg, salt, pepper, cheese, and 1/2 cup flour. Mix till smooth.

  • Step 3: Add remaining flour, mixing till smooth.

  • Step 4: Let rise till double.

  • Step 5: Stir down batter and spread evenly in a greased 1 quart casserole pan.

  • Step 6: Cover and let rise till double.

  • Step 7: Heat oven to 375.

  • Step 8: Bake 40-45 minutes .

  • Step 9: Loaf should be golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
