Step 1: Dough: Dissolve yeast in Warm water.
Step 2: Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour. Mix till smooth.
Step 3: Add enough remaining dough to make dough easy to handle.
Step 4: Turn dough out onto a lightly floured, cloth covered surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Step 5: Place dough in an oiled bowl, turning dough to coat in oil.
Step 6: Let rise, covered with a damp cloth, until doubled. approximately 1 hr.
Step 7: Punch down dough.
Step 8: Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and dip into butter.
Step 9: Combine sugar and cinnamon.
Step 10: Roll dough balls into cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 11: Place dough balls in a greased tube pan.
Step 12: Let rise until doubled.
Step 13: Bake at 375 35-40 minutes.
Step 14: If browning too quickly, cover with aluminum foil.
Step 15: Invert pan onto plate so syrup can drizzle over cake.
Step 16: To serve break apart with 2 forks.
