Step 1: Dough: Dissolve yeast in Warm water.
Step 2: Add milk, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour. Mix till smooth.
Step 3: Add enough remaining dough to make dough easy to handle.
Step 4: Turn dough out onto a lightly floured, cloth covered surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Step 5: Place dough in an oiled bowl, turning dough to coat in oil.
Step 6: Let rise, covered with a damp cloth, until doubled. approximately 1 hr.
Step 7: Punch down dough.
Step 8: Gather up dough and let rest on a board, covered for 15 minutes.
Step 9: Grease 2 8x8x2 square pans.
Step 10: Divide dough in half and roll into two 8 inch squares and cut each into 8 strips.
Step 11: Place 4 strips into each pan.
Step 12: To make lattice, weave in 4 cross strips.
Step 13: Combine cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar.
Step 14: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
Step 15: Let rise till doubled.
Step 16: Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes
