  • 1/2 cup water, warm
  • 1 1/2 cup milk, warm
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 5 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Dissolve yeast in Warm water.

  • Step 2: Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and flour. Mix till smooth.

  • Step 3: Cover and let rise till doubled.

  • Step 4: Stir down batter.

  • Step 5: Spread in greased tube pan.

  • Step 6: Let rise to within an inch of the top of the pan.

  • Step 7: Heat oven to 350F.

  • Step 8: Bake 45 to 50 min.
