  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • 1 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 to 2 tablespoon warm water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F

  • Step 2: Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour

  • Step 3: Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and gently mix, just until dough comes together into a ball

  • Step 4: Divide dough in half

  • Step 5: On ungreased baking sheet pat dough into 12x13 inch strips, keep strips about 3 inches apart

  • Step 6: Heat remaining 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan

  • Step 7: Add 1 cup water and bring to rolling boil, remove from heat and add almond extract and flour, stiring quickly untill dough forms a ball

  • Step 8: Beat in eggs until smooth and glossy

  • Step 9: Divide egg mixture in half and spread onto each strip

  • Step 10: Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown

  • Step 11: Combine glaze ingredients and use to frost danish puff
