Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F
Step 2: Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour
Step 3: Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and gently mix, just until dough comes together into a ball
Step 4: Divide dough in half
Step 5: On ungreased baking sheet pat dough into 12x13 inch strips, keep strips about 3 inches apart
Step 6: Heat remaining 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan
Step 7: Add 1 cup water and bring to rolling boil, remove from heat and add almond extract and flour, stiring quickly untill dough forms a ball
Step 8: Beat in eggs until smooth and glossy
Step 9: Divide egg mixture in half and spread onto each strip
Step 10: Bake 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown
Step 11: Combine glaze ingredients and use to frost danish puff
