Step 1: Line an 8 inch square pan with foil and butter foil.
Step 2: Over very low heat, melt chocolate in pan.
Step 3: Add sugar, corn syrup, and milk.
Step 4: Increase heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly till the sugar dissolves. Wash sugar crystals from side of pan.
Step 5: Cook to the soft ball stage, or 238F on candy thermometer.
Step 6: Remove from heat, add butter but do not stir.
Step 7: Cool to 120F and add vanilla
Step 8: Beat until mixture begins to thicken and looses it's gloss.
Step 9: Quickly pour mixture into the pan and let cool
Step 10: Cut into squares and store in an airtight container
