  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 pounds bok choy (4 heads baby bok choy, halved lengthwise)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (dark)
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Step 2: Sprinkle sugar evenly over the cut sides of the bok choy.

  • Step 3: Add oil to the pan and swirl to coat. Add the bok choy to the skillet, cut side down; cover and cook 2 minutes or until browned. Turn bok choy over and add 3 tablespoonss water to the skillet. Cover and cook 2 minutes or until the bok choy is crisp-tender.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle evenly with salt.
