Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 2 packages (1/4 ounce) dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 7 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped almonds

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cool milk till lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast on top of milk. Let stand for 10 minutes.

  • Step 2: In a bowl, cream butter and sugar.

  • Step 3: Add eggs, one at a time.

  • Step 4: Stir yeast and milk and add cardamom. Combine with egg mixture,

  • Step 5: Add flour.

  • Step 6: Knead dough till smooth.

  • Step 7: Place in greased large bowl and let rise till double.

  • Step 8: Punch down and let rise again till double.

  • Step 9: Divide dough and shape into dinner size rolls.

  • Step 10: Place in two pans and let rise again till double.

  • Step 11: Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Step 12: Brush tops with butter and sprinkle with chopped almonds.

  • Step 13: Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
