Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 240 grams buttermilk baking mix (2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 400°F.

  • Step 2: Combine baking mix, 2 tbsp sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk and egg in bowl to form dough.

  • Step 3: Turn out onto lightly floured, cloth covered surface and knead 5 times.

  • Step 4: Roll 1/2 inch thick.

  • Step 5: Cut with floured doughnut cutter.

  • Step 6: To make bowknots, twist ring to form figure 8.

  • Step 7: Place bowknots and "holes" onto ungreased baking sheet.

  • Step 8: Bake 8-10 minute.

  • Step 9: Immediately after baking, dip into melted butter and then into remaining sugar.
