Step 1: Preheat oven to 450.
Step 2: Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a bowl
Step 3: Cut in shortening until mixture looks like meal.
Step 4: Add almost all of the butter milk, just enough to make a soft, puffy, easy to roll dough.
Step 5: Turn out dough onto a lightly floured, cloth covered surface.
Step 6: Knead lightly 20 - 25 times.
Step 7: Roll out to almost 1/2 inch and cut with floured biscuit cutter.
Step 8: Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Step 9: Bake 10-12 min, until golden brown.
