Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound hot dogs (4 frankfurters, the kind from the butcher shop are best!)
  • 4 ounces sliced bacon (4 slices bacon, thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 ounce cheese (of choice)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Slit the franfurters length-wise from end to end. Cut deeply but not all the way through.

  • Step 2: Cut cheese so that it fits into the sausage and that you can distribute it evenly.

  • Step 3: Wrap the sausages with the bacon slices. Use toothpicks to hold the bacon, if necessary.

  • Step 4: Grill until golden and hot all the way through. Do not overcook or you will over-melt and lose your cheese.

  • Step 5: Serve with fries, potato salad, sauerkraut or sliced rye bread.

  • Step 6: Purists use mustard!
