Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 600 grams cabbage (white cabbage, you can use a pound bag shredded slaw mixture)
  • 80 grams bacon, smoked (you can use 3 slices of bacon)
  • 1 cup water (or broth)
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Caraway seeds (pinch of)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and set aside.

  • Step 2: Slice and salt cabbage.

  • Step 3: In a large pot, add caraway and vinegar and water/broth.

  • Step 4: Stir in cabbage.

  • Step 5: Cook cabbage until it is barely done but not too tender.

  • Step 6: Drain.

  • Step 7: Put slaw in bowl, crumble in the reserved bacon, drizzle with 2 tablespoons oil. Taste, add rest of oil if desired.

  • Step 8: Stir and serve.
