Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 200 grams dry long grain rice (dry 1 cup white rice)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1/2 cup white onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red bell peppers, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove (whole clove, peeled)
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Rinse rice on a strainer until water runs clear. Let it drain in strainer until needed.

  • Step 2: Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add rice. Stir often until slightly brown.

  • Step 3: Stir in onions, bell peppers and garlic. Add 1 1/2 cups water and salt. Bring to a boil over moderately high heat.

  • Step 4: Cover and simmer without stirring until all water is absorbed and rice is tender. Turn off heat and leave rice in saucepan covered for 10 minutes.
