Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups beef stock
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons sherry
  • Coloring to darken the gravy (Such as kitchen bouquet)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter over low heat in a pot.

  • Step 2: Add flour and stir until smooth.

  • Step 3: Add half of the meat stock slowly while constantly stirring

  • Step 4: Add rest of the stock with vinegar and boil slowly, while constantly stirring

  • Step 5: Add pepper and salt.

  • Step 6: Add sherry at the very end, just before removing from heat.

  • Step 7: Remove from heat, allow gravy to cool for 4-5 minutes while stirring constantly.
