Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar raspberry jam
  • 1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix (I use Duncan HInes)
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large egg whites
  • Crust:
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 1/2 tablespoons cold water
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: CRUST: Put ingredients in a bowl and mix well; roll out to cover a large cookie sheet making a 1" edge; make holes all over the crust with a fork and bake in a 400 degree oven till done; cool.

  • Step 2: Spread the jar of raspberry jam evenly all over the crust.

  • Step 3: CAKE: Mix the cake according to directions on the box or use the ingredients listed above; pour batter over the jam and bake at 350 degrees until the cake is done to test.

  • Step 4: FROSTING: Put everything into a mixing bowl starting with 2 cups of the confectioners sugar and adding more sugar if you need it; whip till light and fluffy; frost the top and enjoy!
