Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup oregano, chopped
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons lime juice (3-4 limes)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Kosher salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 loaf (12 ounce) ciabatta bread
  • 3 ounces lettuce leaves (3 cups)
  • 6 ounces prosciutto ham (sliced)
  • 6 ounces capocollo (sliced, hot)
  • 6 ounces soppressata (sliced)
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese (sliced)
  • 1 cup pickled peppers (drained and sliced, hot peppers)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a small bowl combine the dressing ingredients (oregano-garlic plus 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper). Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to one week.

  • Step 2: Halve the ciabatta loaf lengthwise. Rewhisk the dressing/sauce and pour over the cut slices of the bread, spreading evenly.

  • Step 3: Line the bottom half with the lettuce, top with the prosciutto, capocollo, soppressata and provolone. Scatter the pepper over all. Sums together and cut crosswise into 6 sandwiches and wrap each in foil or waxed paper. Let sit for a few hours at room temperature.
