  • 2 pounds venison stew meat
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 3 onions chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Beef or vegetable broth to cover meat and veggies
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season the meat with salt and pepper and brown in the oil along with the onions, mushrooms, and garlic in a Dutch oven or heavy bottom pot.

  • Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients and simmer in 350 oven for 2 hours or until meat is tender.

  • Step 3: Taste and adjust seasoning.

  • Step 4: Thicken sauce if desired with a mixture of 2 tablespoons each cornstarch and water.
