Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound green beans (fresh, trimmed, 454 grams)
  • 2 ounces sliced bacon (2 slices reduced-sodium bacon, finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup minced yellow onion (or shallots)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey mustard
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place beans in a steamer basket over boiling water.

  • Step 2: Steam for about 6 minutes, until beans are tender crisp.

  • Step 3: While beans are steaming, cook bacon, onions and garlic over medium heat in a 10 inch non-stick skillet until bacon is crisp and onions are tender, about 5 minutes; be careful not to burn.

  • Step 4: Remove skillet from heat.

  • Step 5: Add honey mustard and lemon juice.

  • Step 6: Mix well.

  • Step 7: Add beans and stir to coat beans with onion-bacon mixture.

  • Step 8: Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
