Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 head (1 1/2 pounds) green cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds (or to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut out most of the cabbage core with a sharp knife, leaving just enough to hold the head together.

  • Step 2: Slice the head into wedges about 1 1/2" thick.

  • Step 3: Using a large skillet, melt the butter and add cabbage, parsley, sugar, pepper, and broth.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook cabbage over moderate heat about 12 minutes, basting several times with the pan juices

  • Step 5: When the cabbage is almost done, sprinkle with caraway seeds and serve with a little of the pan juices.
