Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pound whole ham (cottage ham)
  • 1 1/2 pounds russet potatoes (4 medium potatoes,peeled, cut in half lengthwise)
  • 3/4 pound fresh green beans (ends nipped, cut in half)
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced (peeled, thickly sliced)
  • 1 1/4 pounds carrots (6 medium new carrots, scraped, cut in half)
  • Water (enough to cover the ham & veggies)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the ham in a Dutchoven.

  • Step 2: Cover.over with water, place a lid on and bring to a boil.

  • Step 3: When boiling turn down the heat to simmer, continue cooking, lid on for 15 minutes.

  • Step 4: Arrange the veggies around the ham.

  • Step 5: Continue to keep the pot simmering with the lid on until the veggies are cooked (apprx 25-30 minutes).

  • Step 6: Slice the ham & serve with the veggies.
