Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 (2 1/4 pounds) apples (cored, 6 large apples)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup raisins (golden)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt, pinch
  • 1 can (12 ounce) cherry soda (black cherry)
  • Vanilla ice cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350F.

  • Step 2: Spray a 13" x 9" pan with non-stick spray-set aside.

  • Step 3: Mix together the brown sugar, raisins, cinnamon, melted butter, salt and vanilla.

  • Step 4: Place the apples in the pan, pour 1/6 the sugar/raisin mixture into each apple then pour the soda over the apples.

  • Step 5: Bake for 1 to 1/2 hours , basting every 15 minutes ( until the apples are soft).

  • Step 6: Serve warm; 1/2 to 1 apple, along with raisins and syrup - with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
