Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pounds chicken wings (12 wings, separated into 2 parts total 24 pieces)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oil in the deep fryer ( peanut is best) to 350 or standard setting.

  • Step 2: Mix the flour and spices in a large plastic bag -shake until well mixed.

  • Step 3: Place the chicken wings into the buttermilk and let sit for a few minutes, then 2 pieces at a time, shake in the flour- set aside the wings for 10 minutes.

  • Step 4: Deep fry for 10 minutes in one or two batches ( depends on size of fryer, dont crowd)- remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Step 5: Serve with ranch dressing, honey mustard and/or sweet and sour dip OR toss with prepared buffalo wing dressing.
