Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup melted butter (divided)
  • 1/2 cup water (boiling water)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (white)
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9X13 inch pan.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda. Blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add boiling water and stir until well blended. If mixture is really hot, cool a few minutes or it will cook the eggs. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining butter.

  • Step 3: Mix in the flour, vanilla, and salt.

  • Step 4: Stir in nuts (if using) and chocolate chips.

  • Step 5: Pour into buttered pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

  • Note: If you prefer your brownies not quite as sweet, you can always scale back on the amount of chocolate chips
