Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (15 ounce) refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts, Pillsbury or your favorite from one 15 ounce package, room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored and cut into 1/3 inch cubes)
  • 9 tablespoons granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup gingersnap cookie crumbs
  • 1/3 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/3 cup golden raisins
  • 1 teaspoon orange peel, grated
  • 1 tablespoon whipping cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Line a 9 inch glass pie dish with 1 pie crust.

  • Step 3: In a bowl combine the apples, 8 tablespoons sugar and the next 4 ingredients (-orange peel) and spoon the filling into the crust. Top with remaining crust; press crust edges together to seal; crimp edges and cut a 1 inch hole in center.

  • Step 4: Blend cream and 1 tablespoon sugar in a small cup or bowl and brush over crust.

  • Step 5: Bake pie until crust is golden and filling bubbles (45 minutes).

  • Step 6: Serve warm.
