Step 1: Cook the bacon into a large pot or skillet over medium heat. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.
Step 2: Leave fat in skillet or remove and leave a little fat, then add cabbage, onion, sugar, salt, pepper, water and crushed bouillon cubes to the pot; cook and stir the cabbage as it cooks. Cook until tender but still crisp, about 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat.
Step 3: Season with salt and pepper. Mix in cooked beans until heated through. Serve.
