Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 box (18.25 ounce) vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box needed to make cake)
  • 1 can (16 ounce) lemon pie filling (or little bigger size)
  • 1 tub (16 ounce) lemon flavored frosting
  • 1 tub (8 ounce) Cool Whip Frozen Topping (thawed)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F degrees.

  • Step 2: Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 3: Prepare cake mix as directed on the back of the box.

  • Step 4: Pour batter into baking dish.

  • Step 5: Place spoonfuls of lemon pie filling all over the batter.

  • Step 6: Take a knife and swirl it all around to help evenly distribute it better.

  • Step 7: Bake at 350F degrees (in center rack) for about 35-40 minutes until cake springs back to the touch and isn't jiggly in the center.

  • Step 8: Let cake cool completely before proceeding to the next step.

  • Step 9: In a bowl and with using a large spoon combine lemon flavored frosting with Cool Whip. Mix until thoroughly combined. Spread frosting over cooled cake.

  • Note: refrigerate until chilled and keep any leftovers refrigerated
