Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (400 grams) shrimp (frozen jumbo raw)
  • 184 grams dry basmati rice (1 cup)
  • 1 1/4 cups vegetable broth (good quality, or chicken broth)
  • Fresh gingerroot (1 one inch thick, dollar size piece of ginger, peeled and finely grated)
  • 2 garlic cloves (processed through garlic press)
  • 1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
  • Soy sauce, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pour the dry rice into the rice cooker, add the broth, ginger, garlic and sesame oil and stir to blend.

  • Step 2: Add the frozen jumbo shrimp, close lid and start the rice cooker; when the rice cooker is done cooking the rice let the rice sit for 5 minutes without opening the lid.

  • Step 3: Fluff the rice, season with soy sauce to taste and serve.
