Step 1: Place potatoes and turnip in a large saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until tender. Drain.
Step 2: Press potatoes and turnips through a potato ricer or mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.
Step 3: Add 2/3 cup half-and-half, 2 tablespoons butter, salt and pepper. Stir well.
Step 4: Melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat in a skillet. Add leeks and cook for 4 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.
Step 5: Add to the potato mixture, stirring to combine.
