Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds potatoes, diced (peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces, baking potatoes)
  • 1 pound turnip, diced (peeled and cubed into 1 inch pieces)
  • 2/3 cup half and half
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups leek, chopped (white and light green parts only)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place potatoes and turnip in a large saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until tender. Drain.

  • Step 2: Press potatoes and turnips through a potato ricer or mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.

  • Step 3: Add 2/3 cup half-and-half, 2 tablespoons butter, salt and pepper. Stir well.

  • Step 4: Melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat in a skillet. Add leeks and cook for 4 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.

  • Step 5: Add to the potato mixture, stirring to combine.
